Aphrodite was a tough one. I had a sketch I did of her months ago, but she was basically just a skanky chick, so I redid her. I like this design much more, though I still could have made her more unique.

She's actually not the Goddess of love, which is contrary to how she's been evaluated in pop culture now adays. Originally she was more a goddess of lust and desire, which is what I chose to represent her as. Hence her slightly malignent nature. I wanted her to look more manipulative than sweet.

I love it. Theres something sinister about her, which I find much more interesting than the cookiecutter goddess of love. Its the eyes I think.

I love the fabric in this, it evokes her oceanic origions wonderfully, when I first saw it I thought it was a mermaid tail. I also like the sinister asspect you've given here. Aphrodite is also worshiped as a goddess of war and a mankiller in many myths and poloi, so I think that you've done her a fair service.

I think you captured what you were aiming for. I donno if you were trying it or not but she look a bit manish with her build. Even so it adds a kind of powerful and dominant air to her.
